Board of Trustees

Purpose
The Board of Trustees is the governing body of the Shadyside Presbyterian Church Nursery School. There are 9 Trustees, a majority of whom are required to be Shadyside Presbyterian Church members. The Trustees serve a three year term and may be re-elected into office. The Trustees must be past or present parents of the Nursery School.  

The Board is a very active one, assisting often with special events and in the classrooms, advising on financial and legal matters, organizing fund raisers, and taking a great interest in the welfare of every child in SPCNS. The Trustees determine the general policy of the school and supervise its administration.

The Board of Trustees strives to help every family feel a part of the Shadyside Presbyterian Church Nursery School community. Throughout the year, board members coordinate and host several events for caregivers and families. These events include the Ice Cream Social, Parent/Caregiver Coffees, Open House Evening, Christmas Sing, Potluck Dinner, and Last Day Celebrations.

In addition, Board of Trustees members also host several fund-raising events during the school year. In the past, these have included a Holiday Book Sale, Wreath Sale, Potluck Raffle, Scholarship Letter Drive, Used Clothing Sale, and  T-Shirt Sale.
